Book Review: The Gift of Tongues – by Robert Henderson

Three questions that are on the minds of all believers at one point are “Is the gift of tongues for today? Does God want me to have this gift? and Should I ask for it? These three questions are what author Robert Henderson asks on the back cover of his book “The Gift of Tongues: What it is, What it isn’t and Why You Need it” I find it interesting that Bill Hamon wrote the forward because Bill Hamon’s book is what I read when I had those exact questions. Robert Henderson’s book starts by answering the question “Why the Debate?”. Robert Henderson continues the book by educating and encouraging readers through scripture and personal experiences. This book is broken into thirteen chapters plus the forward by Bishop Bill Hamon and a Scripture Index at the end of the book. Chapters include: Why the Debate?, The Person of the Holy Spirit, The Baptism of the Holy Spirit, The Filling of the Holy Spirit, New Tongues, A Sign to Unbelievers, A Personal Prayer Language, Partnering with Our Intercessor, Defeating the Three “ads”, Mysteries Unveiled, Giving Thanks, The Interpretation of Tongues, and Proper Protocol.

I recommend this book for everyone interested in the gift of tongues.

I am a seeker of Jesus, wife of Tim, homeschooling mom of six. I created Doodles in the Margin as a place for everything that I do while being a seeker or Jesus, a wife and a mom. I love to read and learn. I found the joy of reviewing books. This blog is where I have my book and curriculum reviews as well as things the the LORD has revealed to me to share. I love to learn about God and help others grow in their relationship with God by talking about the books that I have read. I spend a lot of time sharing with other parents what works for my kids in our homeschooling journey. I started Doodles in the Margin to share the home school resources that I have created. Right now I have my resources available on my Teachers Pay Teachers store. I started Overwhelmed Dreamer to share the notes that I have taken along my journey with Biblical dream interpretation. Songs by Jano is my podcast that I set up to share the music that I wrote.
